Snow Goose Description Distinguishing Features - Length: 56 - 79 cm; weight 1.2 - 2.5 kg. Overall colouration: pure white with black wing tips, pink feet and stout pink bill with black margin. In some regions, a blue phase occurs and were formerly considered a seperate species - the Blue Goose Chen caerulescens.
Northeastern Siberia, Arctic America; tundra, marshes, grainfields, prairies, ponds, bays. Diet Largely plant materials; seeds of aquatic plants and cultivated grains. Notes The species is noisy in flight; more terrestrial than ducks; the voice is a high pitched nasal barking.
