| Weldwood of Canada sold their Longlac mills to Kruger Inc. in 1995. The company became Longlac Wood Industries Inc. in 1996. With its waferboard and hardwood plywood plants Longlac Wood Industries employs approximately 400 people. Over the last 4 years a unique product which is a combination of waferboard and veneer was developed and is known as Multi-Core. This product is sold to U.S. and Canadian markets. The key to the operation is the combination of plywood with waferboard. Longlac Wood Industries uses the entire tree so that they can get the highest value possible from the resource. Longlac Wood Industries is a subsidiary of Kruger Inc. |
