Calendar of Forest Capital of Canada Events
Our 12-month plan of activities and events was fully focused on Northwest
Ontarios designation as the Forest Capital of Canada for the year 2000 and the significance of the
forest to our citizens and visitors to our region. As well, the program recognized the
landmarks of the new millennium and the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Forestry
Association.
Our year of celebration reflected these important
features. The calendar of activities and events was developed by participants of a
regional workshop and a task group of the Forest Capital of Canada Steering Committee. As
well as creating special events for the Forest Capital Year, they identified existing
events that could be enhanced by the Forest Capital designation.
Following are the events of Forest Capital of Canada 2000.
